RED LIGHT BYTES: THE No. 9 SPECIAL
The 25th Century's Bravest Hounds Face Devilish Villains In The Next Chapter of 365 INFANTRY!
OVERVIEW
Welcome to the Red Light Bytes No. 9 Special, now here’s where things get FUN! We’re gonna take you on a breakneck tour of the exciting tales we have in store for our Summer 2024 Issue! We’ll touch on all five pulp stories, the next episode of Alan Firedale, and the sensational bonuses that come with our freshly-remodeled 365 Infantry Quarterly, the webzine’s print edition.
365 INFANTRY #9: What to Expect
This next issue strives for pure pulp drive and energy with a twist of firebrand speculative fiction. Lead artist Kevin John Jacob brings his experience in comics to the electric world of Haven and the Wastelands as never before! Our pivot towards paneled layouts helps capture our brand of high-octane thrills to the letter! We will update with the stories as they are rolled out.
THE WAR — Captain “Grim” Herrera & Adventurer Jack T. Wellman discover a bizarre military site while the Force wages war on unruly raiders and their perplexing machines in “Worlds Under Fire!” (6/10)
THE HUNT — It appears as though Valentina and Her Hunters are at peace, having survived their peculiar therapy with Eric. The rejuvenation is put to the test when the pack has to stop a gang war in “Nero’s Bastards!” (6/11)
THE URBAN AVENGER — The time has come for “Hazel” to be revealed! The Urban Avenger Lita and the caped crusader Professor Smith hunt down the devious hound thru an alien corner of Haven in “Underground Hounds!” (6/12)
THE SPEEDFREAK FILES — Metröpolis is becoming a twin-axe attack! When Nic, Harry and Rory find Navajo blueshound Brett Tsé, they have to shake a cannibalistic loan shark off his tail in “Two to Tango, Four to Shred!” (6/13)
TALES FROM THE FRONT LINE — In Part 1 of a three-part serial, relive “The Day Knox Died!” Before leading the 365th into battle, discover the dark gray’s dark past as a Haven cop who learns the deadly truth about his beloved city. (6/14)
ALAN FIREDALE: DESERT DELINQUENT — The red-furred rebel and his friendly car turn their eyes (and headlights) to the skies when a UFO rocks the desert! Aided by family friend and unorthodox astronomer Doctor Verne, it’s a race to uncover the disk’s sinister origins in “Cosmic Conflagration!” (6/12)
365 INFANTRY QUARTERLY: What to Expect
On top of all five stories, 365 Infantry Quarterly: Summer 2024 includes a special introduction, an exclusive article detailing the starring roles of real-world military vehicles in the series, and the print debut of our 100th story “The 10-Ton Runaway,” complete with special art for the occasion! We’ve also freshened up the print edition’s layout with new typefaces and expanded presentations of our cover art to better appreciate the art’s detail.
The magazine goes on sale June 10th in both paperback and eBook form; Day 1 of the webzine’s rollout. To avoid clogging your inboxes, we’ll make our Salute The Troops post on the 10th with the announcement of its availability made there. Ads will be placed at the end of every story released this week. Your support of the Quarterly helps to keep these stories FREE here on the web.
CONCLUSION
365 Infantry is taking it all up a notch. Blending mediums, blending genres, all in search of a few metallic thrills. For all the love and care we put into this series, the world, and this gang of madcap hot-rodding, hog-riding hounds, we’re still just purebred pulp—fast, carefree, white-knuckled excitement. What counts is that YOU are reading and YOU are entertained!
It’s been a terrific spring offseason, and tomorrow, we’re capping it off with our last Red Light Byte for now. Stay tuned for an amusing aside looking into Wasteland historians trying to make sense of the tall tales that make up this strange new canon, including a retired and too-old-for-this-shit General Godred stepping in to pull it together. Check back here tomorrow for “Matters of Myth”
As Always, May God Bless You & This Force. Roll On, Soldiers!
