I often put myself in the mindset of "what was it like watching this at the time" when I go back to older media, and "Tell-Tale" gives me the chills every time because there is nothing that brazenly creepy from this era of animation. Maybe some stop-motion by Len Lye or Władysław Starewicz, but that goes back to the silent era and the 30s. "Tell-Tale" is such a bold and singular production it kinda defies belief at times.
The Tell-Tale Heart is ABSOLUTELY one of the best animated shorts ever -- happy to back you up on that, and great to see it getting more attention!
