It has come to my attention that I have not only a wonderful audience here on Substack, but it is by and large my most engaged audience.
With nearly 70 of you wonderful readers here and over 100 fine followers on Twitter, I’ve been wanting to find a way to entertain the audience in the offseason between quarters, as well as keep them up to date on the latest with the series.
I think I’ve got the solution.
Red Light Bytes is a weekly newsletter that divulges developments into the production of 365 Infantry and announcements for new content. We’ll also endeavor to include editorial segments that offer observations on not just what we’re doing, but the passing scene, the craft of storytelling, aesthetic musings, and anything that strikes us as pertinent, relevant, or plain-old interesting at the time of writing.
We’ll also recommend stuff we dig, old and new, be they movies, music, books, projects, or artists worth supporting and admiring in a segment we like to call Streetwise Caviar. Because staying cultured isn’t just for the ivory tower ‘round these parts.
We will also be running a weekly FLASH FICTION story. Short, sweet, and to-the-point romps across the Wastelands and through the City streets. Though released under the Red Light Bytes banner, these stories will be found in Tales From the Front Line, as they are true anthology tales, barring any potential serializations that may materialize.
We want to keep you involved, in the loop, and of course, entertained. Staying weekly will also help us plug important stuff like our fundraiser for the next two quarters of art!
We are asking all who enjoy our work and who support independent creatives such as ourselves to please consider donating to our Ko-fi goal of $600 USD to help fund the wonderful illustrations of our Kevin John Jacob. Funding these beforehand will help free us up for work on the thrilling new exclusives we have in store.
Give as much or as little as you can spare over there or via PayPal.Me. We also have our merch store over on Redbubble where you can grab yourself a fine T-shirt or a quality mug to show your support.
And of course, enjoy the tales we tell and share them with friends and family. We look forward to spinning many more across this exciting world we’ve forged.
The newsletter proper will start publication on September 29th, but in the meantime, enjoy a little ditty we like to call “Ever the Fighters,” the very first of our flash fiction stories about two of Lita’s good friends.
May God bless you and this Force. Stay tuned!
