Overview
And now the real fun begins!
We’re firing up production of our Summer 2024 issue (#9 for those playing at home). Stories have been planned out, and art will be produced in parallel. We’re going to try out a few new things in this issue’s production, ones we’ll start teasing as the drafts roll in and the beta-reading commences.
In the meantime, we have a few items to address…
A Correction
You may be receiving this newsletter a shake earlier than usual, and that’s because I wanted to give you all the time you needed to take advantage of this.
In a caffeine-deprived stupor, I mistakenly announced (twice) that the 365 Infantry Wildfire Sale ended today, Monday the 15th…after spending two whole weeks screaming APRIL 14TH (this past Sunday) at you all.
And one of those was unfortunate lapses was broadcast on a stream.
While the subscriptions and music releases are all back to their normal prices, we felt the best way to atone for this is to honor that error. You have until the end of TODAY, the 15th, to take advantage of our $0.99 eBooks and 20-30% off our paperback releases. These titles include:
The 2022 Annual Collection ($7 USD)
The 2023 Annual Collection ($12 USD)
The Electric Anthology Vol. 1 ($5 USD)
Once more, we do humbly apologize. Now, on with the parting gifts!
From Out The Wildfire’s Ashes
First of all, huge shoutout to everyone who has supported us over the course of the sale. Not a record sold or a book bought is taken for granted. And while the deals may be gone, we do have a few things to round the sale out.
First off is an announcement regarding those aforementioned books: we are officially enrolling all 365 Infantry eBooks in Kindle Unlimited. For those who are subscribed to the service, that means every one of our releases will be available to you whenever you wish! Purchase options will still be available, but every page read via Kindle Unlimited helps to support the Force, and ensure a steady stream of killer pulp entertainment wherever you go.
Secondly, our Bandcamp has its full discography discount set at 25% off, currently a grand total of $6.75 USD! Releases include:
Alan Firedale: Original Soundtrack Vol. 1 — Electronica
Wolves of Steel (feat. JVP) — Heavy Metal
While Haven Sleeps — Ambient
Grab some Wasteland jams and hang on tight, because you best believe they’ll have plenty more company in the coming months!
In honor of his 95th birthday on the 14th and the sheer popularity of the article, we’ve officially make our behind-the-scenes article about the influence of TV legend Gerry Anderson FREE to all readers. Learn all about how the creator of Thunderbirds and Space: 1999 and his tremendous legacy have influenced the conception and creation of 365 Infantry!
Last, but certainly not least, Episode 2 of our audio adventure series Alan Firedale: Desert Delinquent is FREE to all listeners.
We wanted to give you all taste of things to come, by looking back on one of our favorite episodes of the WHOL radio staple. Alan Firedale has taken many a twist and turn in its tone and direction over his first year on the Wasteland airwaves, but with the conclusion of “The Cypress Fires,” we wanted to give our listeners a chance to experience the series at its purest, a guidepost for future adventures with the red wolf and his loveable hot rod.
A tale of tribes gone missing, mysterious metal wolves, and the dark secret behind both, “Flames Along The Homeland” sees Alan and Golden Cloud try to help the lone escapee of this bizarre affair find her lover and her pack. Featuring a dazzling score and some of the most imaginative scenarios committed to 25th century radio, we encourage you all to take this unique adventure for a spin, and to consider becoming a paid subscriber to experience all of Alan and Goldie’s previous and future escapades.
Updates
Besides the 365 machine getting thrown into high-gear, work continues on reloading all 80+ stories on Substack with proofed manuscripts. Issues 1-7 of the main magazine are all patched up, which leaves all 30 Red Light Bytes installments from 2022 and 2023, all six of last year’s Solar Joint Stories, both of our flash anthologies, and all eight parts of paid-sub serial Steeled Spies.
Speaking of Roger, work continues on editing “The Short-Circuit Revolution,” including some additional moments to better reflect our current conception of the character as seen in “Spycraft, 2475 A.D.” We hope to have cover art soon, and as such, expect some teasers in the coming weeks.
Alan Firedale: Original Soundtrack Vol. 2 is completely mastered, and while lead artist Kevin John Jacob works on the cover art, we’ll be seeing about a bonus feature or two to spruce up the record…
Other than that, it’s back to the pulp mines for us! As always:
May God Bless You & This Force! Be Seeing You!
