RED LIGHT BYTES: Updates Dossier (12-1-2024)
All The Latest From The Frontlines of Our Metallic Future...
Welcome to December! We hope all our American readers enjoyed a Happy Thanksgiving, and survived their Black Friday quarter-miles. And much like those shopping cart massacres, this is where the white-knuckling starts for us.
This is going to be a super-spare edition, just because there isn’t a great deal to report. Alan Firedale has been recorded (in a character-by-character manner instead of my usual audiobook reading) and Kevin is still valiantly hammering away on the art. The goal is to have all stories off to beta-readers this week, and the latest music score for Firedale prepped.
In terms of cultah, I’ll let the continue to take lead. Our entire range of eBooks is on sale for just $0.99 each, alongside scores of fellow authors delivering on exciting genre fiction, thoughtful novels, and other odds-and-ends, all for the same low price or FREE. “Ctrl+F” for “365 Infantry” to find our titles, and don’t forget to peruse the rest for your own amusement. You never know what you’ll find! Sale runs through Tuesday.
We’ll also take time to shoutout one of our concept artists from way back when.
Ben “bar1scorpio” Rodriguez recently posted the full original concept art for Adam Knox’s late wife, Lorraine “Angel” Knox over on FurAffinity. Check out his work over there to see some of what inspired us to bring him on.
The fair-furred, Porsche-driving gal was completed in January 2022, in time to get Kevin rolling on art for “An Address from the General” for our debut edition. I recall having some back and forth about the hands and feet, as I was still ironing out my 50/50 rule as mentioned in our article “Drawn & Quartered,” but what counted in the end was bringing this wonderful character to life, something which Ben did with aplomb.
Lastly, don’t forget to check out our first-ever Thanksgiving offering, an impromptu holiday freebie called “His One Weakness.” This slice-of-life aside checks in on an old favorite, the Sterling family, as we see a humdinger of a holiday with all of Jane and Buck’s folks.
I genuinely couldn’t find a place to break the story off for a paywall, and combined with unmatched joy of writing for these characters, I said to hell with it and turned it loose. An Emergency Ration is in the works for our wonderful paid subs, and our first-of-the-month byte of flash fiction will still be released for free. Y’all are getting lucky this year, and don’t you forget it!
And that about tears it! Ain’t anything else left to say, beyond our old reliable:
May God Bless You & This Force. Be Seeing You, Pilgrims!
