RED LIGHT BYTES: The No. 12 Special
New Struggles, Old Foes & The Electrifying Future. All In Focus In A Brand-New Issue of 365 INFANTRY!
OVERVIEW
And just like that, we’re back in the saddle again! Next week will see the launch of our 12th issue and it is quite the paradigm changer. Not for any uniquely radical changes to format like last year’s parallel serial in The War, but in the sense that we’re now getting to play with all the new elements established.
Can Jovian keep his better-half around and useful in Valentina’s crusade against the Colosseum? How has Knox changed after that infamous council meeting? How will Lita keep her Avenger’s Creed together when facing an ever-devolving Haven? All these questions and more will hang over our next year of stories!
As usual, this guide will be updated as stories are released, and will serve as a main hub for you to experience the webzine version of our Spring 2025 offerings. Let’s dive in with the synopses!
365 INFANTRY #12: What to Expect
XII. Bury The Spur!
“And that there tears it.” rang the voice of recon agent Roger Steele. “The whole damn thing. We got A.C.E.S. right where we want her. Whole floor plans, whole server racks. That’s where she keeps herself.” Knox studied every item, every scrap of blue print, every blown-up photo. The dark gray General couldn’t believe it at first, but the past half-hour presentation the light-furred agent gave was beyond compelling. It was often easy to forget they had an inside man working the city, the Force’s past recon missions always fleeting in nature...
THE WAR: Bury The Spur! — Reports from a supply run reveal that, in spite of the base’s destruction, rogue elements of The Black Country remain active in the desert. And General Adam Knox is not taking them lying down. Leading the charge in a massive maneuver, a rendezvous with their most devious adversaries soon turns into a startling revelation that goes well beyond the ruthless third faction!
XII. Fire Tests The Gold
“Watcha thinking, chief? I’ll make it, won’t I?” Jovian lay on the rack beside Eric’s desk, the elder red mechanic tending to the mountainous hound before him. He had ordered everyone out of the room—even Valentina—and sought to have a heart-to-heart with a figure he never thought he’d see...
THE HUNT: Fire Tests The Gold — By Eric’s careful hand, more is revealed about Jovian’s inner-workings & work is done to maintain the gladiator's benign persona. His first test comes when the Pack joins the hunt for a killer, with Val caught in the crosshairs!
XII. The Purgers of Progress
Six scientists in six days meant one of three things: a crackdown on civilian studies, clandestine developments for villainous outfits, or one mighty run of bad luck. The semi-official Haven Society for Public Professors deliberated these findings over and over again, but to no further understanding about the accidents. Each instance involved a study kept from the organization, begging further questions when Professor Smith seemed the only hound who understood where each unfortunate soul went wrong through his various deductions...
THE URBAN AVENGER: The Purgers of Progress — Someone is doing in the civilian scientists of Haven, and Professor Smith knows just the hound to help him sort out these ruthless crimes. Having rescued the hippie-punk Lita from a mountain of paperwork, the duo follow the trail of destruction and find themselves faced with an insidious truth…
XII. Screaming Thru The Screen
When I found out about his double life, I wasn’t shocked by the idea so much as the image he made for himself. For you see, when dear old Harry Garret, alias Richter, isn’t touring with his favorite three metal machines, he is apparently one of the most prolific stunt guitarists in the music video biz. That is to say, when a solo singer or a band is short an axe-man in their video, they ring up Richter...
THE SPEEDFREAK FILES: Screaming Thru The Screen — There’s a revival afoot in the desert music scene: a revival of the music video! And having been a part of this renewed interest in hit-clip-making, Nic has Harry pull some strings and get Metröpolis their own video shoot. What the rest of the band don’t realize is just how tough it is to make one. Doubly so when a frantic car chase blasts through the set wall!
J.B Marshall in ACID ARROWS!
Just as he conquered the petty tribalism of his urban neighbors to the west, James Baron Marshall turned strongman diplomacy into volcanic furor, aimed squarely at the atomic children of this fallen world...
TALES FROM THE FRONT LINES: Acid Arrows — In the first of four stories focused on heroes of the Wasteland, frontier legend James Baron Marshall headlines his very first main series tale! The founder of the first formal resettling effort after the Bombs, the half-gray cowboy is renowned for his efforts and for defending them against the terrible monstrosities made in the atomic afterglow. This tale sees him squaring off against the latest of these reptilian foes after a massacre of pilgrims headed for the Marshalls. Can he stop this spiked devil’s reign of terror?
ALAN FIREDALE: The Match is Struck — The young red wolf takes time after a nasty spill to reflect on how he met his friendly hot-rod Golden Cloud, the surprising history of her creation, and their first encounter with the bizarre, including a certain one-eyed despot…
FROM THE MAGAZINE
Our latest issue will feature not only all five of our latest series installments and Kevin John Jacob’s striking half-page comics, but will also endeavor to include brand-new character profiles and a special bonus article “Keys to the Code,” discussing the many codenames and special call signs used by the Force and Hell Patrol, their meanings, and how they were developed behind the scenes.
And as previously promised, when the Quarterly is launched on Amazon, two major changes are coming to our eBook editions. The first is that all eBooks are being converted to “print replicas” to ensure uniform presentation of series art. By extension, we will be updating our Spring 2024 Quarterly to our current standards of typeface and presentation. The second is that they are all going for the low-low price of $0.99 USD! Our commitment to real pulp fun at real pulp prices continues unabated, and it all starts with the release of our latest installment! We’ll be sending out an email and updating this article once the new issue is live on Amazon. We aren’t taking chances after our most recent fight with KDP!
As Always: May God Bless You & This Force. See You Next Week!
